2021 ANNUAL MEETING & EDUCATION DAY

CONFERENCE TESTIMONIALS

Marci Gray did a superb job in delivering this presentation. Right from the start she was captivating. I loved her introduction to the session which engaged everyone in mindfulness meditation. Marci’s explanation of the effects of racial trauma was insightful. Closing with a message for us (social workers) to maintain awareness of our privileges and ally with others experiencing racism was an impactful close to the session

– Conference Attendee

Marci Gray did an excellent presentation. Examined history how it shapes the present lives of people of colour. Look at race as a social construct formatted by biases. Excellent examination of verbal behavioural and micro-aggression how unconscious actions toward people impact an individual’s mental health. The need for anti-Black practices and to be mindful of the long-term effects of racialized trauma.

The Psychological Impact of Hate Crimes

I appeared on CTV News Channel to speak on this act of terror against Muslim family and the psychological impacts of hate crime on racialized communities. (Watch the clip at the link below). Let’s stand together with the muslim community to spread love and compassion during this very difficult time where their sense of safety and security has been challenged. And, let’s grieve with this little 9 year old boy who survived but has now lost his family sencelessly.
